Violinists, Violists, and Cellists aged 16-28 on June 29, 2024 are eligible to apply to the Geneva International String Academy
Exceptionally talented students under 16 can apply but they will need to be accompanied by an adult for the whole duration of the Academy. For string quartets average age is 28.
The Geneva International String Academy is also open to already formed string quartets. Members of the groups will get individual lessons and/or chamber music coachings with the faculty. Formed ensembles are welcome but each member needs to apply individually.
All candidates must provide:
- Two High resolution photos of at least 1.5 Mb of which one in Landscape | Horizontal, and one in Portrait | Vertical
- CV (preferably in English or French), PDF only
- 2 separate videos recordings of two contrasting pieces, minimum 10 minutes duration in total. YouTube links only (public or private).
- At least one letter of recommendation (English or French), PDF only. Click here to view the instructions to provide to professors to eventually email the letters.
- A statement explaining your motivation to participate to the Geneva International String Academy (English or French)
For formed string quartets, please add to your individual recordings, at least one video recording of the quartet. YouTube links only (public or unlisted).
Optional but highly recommended for solo applicants: a video recording of a chamber music performance.
Application fee non-refundable: 65 CHF net for the Academy. We recommend you use Stripe online banking as indicated in the Application form.
All bank fees are at the charge of the applicant in case of money Bank Transfer.
