Sofija Dodig, born on August 30th 2005 in Belgrade Serbia, is one on the most promising young artists of her country. At 17, she became the youngest finalist in the history of International Jeunesses Musicales Violin Competition in Belgrade and won the special prize for the best domestic candidate. She is currently studying at the University for Music and Performing Arts Graz in preparatory class with Emilio Percan and finishing her high school studies in Belgrade with Ana Veskov.

Sofija has been playing the violin since the age of 7 and has won various awards and first prizes at national and international violin competitions in the world.. She won the 3rd prize at “Jeno Hubay” international violin competition in Hungary, 1st prize at “Franjo Krežma” international violin competition in Croatia, 1st and was absolute winner of “Ludmila Weiser” international competition in Croatia, special prize at “Ohrid Pearls” EMCY violin competition, 1st prize at “Stringfest” competition and “Karlovci” international competition. Most recently, she won a special prize at 51st International Jeunesses Musicales Competition, as the youngest participant of the competition, for musicians up to 35 years of age.

She gave numerous recitals in countries such as The Netherlands, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia and has performed in halls such as Golden Hall of Wiener Musikverein, Great Hall of Kolarac Endowment, Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, Macedonian Philharmonic Hall, Bartók Hall and others.

She has worked with renowned musicians such as Gil Shaham, Boris Kuschnir, Pavel Vernikov, Daniel Rowland, Kirill Troussov, Grigory Kalinovsky, David Bowlin, Svetlana Makarova, Brian Finlayson, Stefan Milenkovic, Igor Tkachouk, Tatyana Balashova, Savely Shalman, Nemanja Radulovic, Robert Lakatos and others.

Sofija is a passionate chamber musician as well - her chamber music partners included Daniel Rowland, Dana Zemtsov, Nicholas Schwartz, Ana Ulaieva, Oleksii Kanke, Maja Bogdanovic, Florian Pichlbauer, Uki Ovaskainen and others. She was a youngest member of Wiener Jeunesse Orchester and ESYO Orchestra.She was participant and scholarship holder of the Mozarteum Summer Academy 2022 in Salzburg and was selected to perform on numerous concerts organised by the academy. She is also a scholarship holder from Stauffer Academy in Cremona and Davidsbündler Academyin The Hague.

Sofija received a number of awards for her successes in music field - she is a two time stipend from “Dobar glas” Foundation, which supports the best young musicians from Serbia, as well as the scholarship holder of the Fund for Young Talents of the Republic of Serbia. She has received the “Dositeja Prize” from the Serbian Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the Prize of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, which is awarded to the up-and-coming young talents in Serbia for their achievements in the field of culture.
