Varvara Vasylieva is a Ukrainian violinist born in 2003. After completing her studies in Ukraine she started her Bachelor degree in 2022 at the Hochschule für Musik Basel with Prof. Barbara Doll.

She is a laureate of the Ysaÿe International Music Competition, Liège/Belgium (2019, 1st Prize), Oleksiy Gorokhov International Competition-Festival (2022, 1st Prize), Odesa International Violin Competition (2018, 3rd Prize), IX International Violin Contest "Bravo!" in Namur/Belgium (2013, 1st Prize) and others.

Varvara performed in different chamber music formations in festivals such as Beethovenfest Bonn (2022), Rihener Serenaden (2023), Im Spiegel (St. Gallen, 2023), Fiskars Summer Festival, Wolfegg Wintermusik (2023-2024), Bouquet Kyiv Stage (2020). Among her chamber music partners were such renowned musicians as Barbara Doll, Winfried Rademacher, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Alexander Gordon, Silvia Simionescu, Marko Ylönen, Francis Gouton, Peter Bruns, Oleksiy Shadrin, Valeriy Sokolov and others.

Throughout her studies, she frequently performed as a chamber musician and soloist both in Ukraine and abroad. With the Mriya Orchestra, she performed as a soloist in charity concerts in the Berlin Philharmonie, "Die Glocke" in Bremen and the Laeiszhalle Hamburg. In October 2023 she performed in Stadtcasino Basel with Basel Sinfonieorchester as a soloist in an opening concert from Hochschule für Musik Basel.
